Assetto Corsa PC gameplay. <br /> <br />Continuing my exploration of North American race tracks we head to Texas for this 15 lap GT3 race at COTA , <br /> <br />Circuit of the Americas, unlike many modern GP circuits is actually quite an interesting and enjoyable track to race on with something other than F1 cars. It's a long time since I've driven the track in a video game, probably not since Grid Autosport on the PS3 which was not really a comparable experience. The circuit is as tricky as I remember though and a place where consistent lap times proved difficult for me. <br /> <br />Having qualified in fifth I gambled on soft tyres for the race and although they did start to give me problems by about lap 12 they managed to last the race, <br /> <br />The race itself was a case of trying to survive the first corner and to try and make a clean break from the bulk of the field, My plan worked after a fashion but the leader disappeared into the distance very early on and I spent a fairly lonely race once again, trying to defend my position from the Lambos who proved to be very fast here once they worked their way through the pack. <br /> <br />Although there wasn't a lot of close action for me, I enjoyed the race and think the result was about the best I could hope for. <br /> <br />This is a modded track and the AI behaviour was very erratic in places so perhaps not being around them for the bulk of the race was a good thing! They were set to 98% difficulty and I drove with Factory ABS and TCS only. All other assists were off, track conditions were set to "Green" and full damage and penalties were enabled,
